Dr. Spang Ingenieurgesellschaft für Bauwesen, Geologie und Umwelttechnik mbH
Dr. Spang Ingenieurgesellschaft für Bauwesen, Geologie und Umwelttechnik mbH is a SME engineering office with branches in Witten (Northe Rhine-Westphalia), Freiberg (Saxony), Esslingen/Neckar (Baden-Württemberg), Nuremberg (Bavaria) and Naumburg (Saxony-Anhalt).
The business is managed by certified engineer Dipl.-Ing. Christian Spang, and the shares are owned entirely by the family. Dr. Spang GmbH currently holds a 50% stake in Dr. Salveter GmbH, Dresden, HRB 22472, and has a 100% stake in BuG Baugrunduntersuchung Naumburg UG (limited liability), Naumburg, HRB 9080, AG Stendal There are no other shareholdings or shared interests with construction companies, engineering office or suppliers. Dr. Spang GmbH is legally and financially independent. The company originated out of a change of company name from the office for construction in rock/construction geology established in 1980. The name was changed to its present form in 1999.
Our range of services is provided by a team of 60 experienced construction engineers, geotechnics experts, engineers and hydrogeologists, along with technical staff. The team is highly motivated, employing scientifically-based methods and modern working tools. One of our employees is a publicly-appointed and sworn expert in the field of foundation engineering; earthworks in road construction engineering, attached to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the central Ruhr region around Bochum, and another is a publicly-appointed and sworn expert for issues relating to long-term safety in areas of near-surface mining in the Land of North Rhine-Westphalia, attached to the district authority in Arnsberg (Department for Mining and Energy in NRW). Several of our employees are licensed as health and safety coordinators and as experts in training in working with abandoned polluted areas pursuant to BGR 128 (the German occupational insurers’ rules relating to health and safety at work).
In addition to our team of employees, we have the benefit of the expertise and the wide-ranging experience of our Advisory Board.
The four Advisory Board members are:
- • Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Helmut Bock, whose posts include being a publicly appointed and sworn expert for rock mechanics and geo-metrology;
- • Mr Ralf Porzig, Consultant Engineer , DBBV expert and until 2001 Chairman of the Board at Walter Bau AG;
- • Prof. Dr. Konrad Spang, Holder of the Chair for Project Management at Kassel University;
- • Dr. Gerd W. Wenner, a longstanding legal consultant to Dr. Spang GmbH.
Our client base comprises public and private clients. The main area of focus in our planning and expertise work is based in the German-language area. Beyond that, we have extensive experience of working in other countries, including Australia, Austria, Chad, Georgia, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Morocco, New Zealand, Niger, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, Sudan, Thailand, Turkey, and the USA.
